The Weekend

I am working to become immensely grateful for the abundance that I have in my life. This weekend made that very easy.  Friday night, my parents got back from the lake and came over for dinner. Having them together with my girls is just so much fun.  And hearing about them taking time off and relaxing makes me very happy.

Saturday was jam packed. We started out with a walk for Gavin and SIDS. This was incredibly sad. So many people there to mourn babies who were taken so suddenly. It made me so grateful for two happy, healthy children of my own. I also watched Connie and Shane be strong for each other and for Jaxon, and it made me proud to have them as friends.

In the afternoon, we all went to Chow’s for Hazel’s birthday party. Nora had so much fun and just loved getting to be around Hazel. Plus RJ and Isla were there, so that made it even better. And I got to meet another of Scott and Katherine’s friends, Kristy, who was very entertaining.  All around, a huge success.

Then that evening, we had the neighborhood block party. It was perfect weather. There were a ton of kids who kept Nora very busy.  She ran and played the whole night through. And it was just fun to get to see more of the neighbors. I am grateful to have such good neighbors.

Sunday we did the Diner. (Always grateful for that!) and then Hailey took a four hour nap. So  I took an hour or so and then got  work done while Amber and Nora went to the pool with the Rademachers.  And last night, Hailey and I got to hang out some more, because Nora, Amber, Emily, and Isla did a yoga class together. So Hailey and I went to the store and then had dinner.  At that point, she was tired, so it was bedtime.  After Nora went to sleep, Amber and I got some quality time and started to discuss budgeting. She and I used to be incredibly good about that, and we need to get back to that place. So we have started the process and I am excited to get back on track with her.

All in all, I am very lucky. And I am so grateful to have so many wonderful people in my life. Thank you!
