I was talking to Chris yesterday about what I am doing and how I am feeling. He doubled down on me about staying consistent, and doing what I need to do in order to get what I want to get. What he said was: It is in the show up, that you grow up. What that means is that there are going to be days where I do not want to work out. There are going to be days where I do not want to meditate. There are going to be days where I don’t want to journal. There will be days where I don’t want to lead generate. Doing those things get me the outcomes that I want though.
So simply showing up and doing everything that I just listed and more helps me get what I want. I have so many reasons for doing these things, that simply doing them helps me achieve those goals. Helps me impact my life, my wife’s life, my daughter’s life, my business associates lives, my client’s lives, my friends’ lives, and so much more that I have been writing about and diving deep on in the past few weeks (and much longer to be honest).
Chris talked about how we all have that friend that decided that there was a point in their life where they were happy, or that they didn’t have enough motivation to move beyond. So they stopped showing up. And they stopped growing up. We all know that friend who still acts like they are in college long after they have graduated. They decided that that is where they want to be. I have decided that I want to be the best me possible. The Ryan who affects people’s lives for the better. The Ryan who helps others get to where they want to be. I cannot do that unless I get to where I want to be. So I guess I am going to have to show up!
