What do I mean by that? When I first started out as a realtor, I would let my clients talk me into listing their properties at where they wanted them to sell. What that got me was listings that did not sell, and clients who were not happy with me.
Now I focus on what is needed to actually get your house to sell. Which means that I am going to tell you my interpretation of the market for your house and where your house fits into it. That might not always be the number that you are looking for, but it is the number that will get your house sold based off of the market at the time.
I do not make the market, I simply interpret it. So I will also update you weekly on your position in the market and my recommendation on what to do to make you best positioned to sell.
So all of this is to say, if you want to sell your house, you can come to me and I will be honest with you. My goal is not to collect buyers off of your house. My goal is to sell your house. Sometimes that means that I need to tell you something you do not want to hear. Would you rather have a professional realtor who does that for you? Or a realtor who just lets you sit there for months not selling, happily collecting buyer leads off of your house? Are you content not moving on to where you really want to be, and wondering what is wrong.
