Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

I just got back from the dentist, and the fantastic news is that I have no cavities.  I have created a pretty elaborate set of habits to keep my teeth clean, and it paid off.

I should back track by saying that both of my Grandfathers were dentists.  So dental hygiene was pretty important growing up.  To that end I now brush in the morning and evening, floss in the morning, use ACT at night, and chew a piece of sugarless gum for an hour after eating lunch.  Like I said, pretty elaborate.

So why am I telling you this?  I have had a goal of not having any cavities, and so far I have succeeded.  So now I get to brag, feel good, and just enjoy accomplishing a goal.  If you have a goal and you stick to it through to success, you should celebrate.  Even if it is a small goal, like not eating sweets after dinner for a week.  Celebrate by giving yourself the hugest, nastiest sweet you can come up with at the end of your goal.  Positive reinforcement is a great motivator.

So how am I going to celebrate?  I’m going to share this smile with the world. : )
