A Better Way to Sell

Wait a second, is that pointing at me?

I want to rant.  Today I attended a webinar by Jeff Gitomer about social media.  I have told myself countless times that I was going to stop attending social media webinars since they all say the same very basic information that could be told in 5 minutes, but instead gets stretched out to an hour.  What I got today was even worse.

Adwords Ninja: That Depends on What Your Definition of “The” Is

The way of the ninja requires much patience.

I have been working through Glenn’s process on my newest attempt at finding a marketable niche.  Today I had an epiphany. I think I have been grouping my keywords together incorrectly up to this point in my excellent business adventure.

To explain: Glenn has you do A LOT of homework before you ever even think about jumping into a niche market.  Thus far in my business activities around this type of business, the homework has been most of what I was doing.  In the last niche I tried, I made it to some implementation.  But I quickly figured out that I didn’t want to go any further with that niche.  And I think I just figured out (one of the reasons) why.

A Good Start

It may seem small, but a whole lot of them could make you a mansion.

I believe one of the main problems people have with reaching for really big goals is figuring out where to start.  I know that that was a constant problem for me in trying to build a business.  I followed tips from The 4-Hour Work Week.  I asked people who had their own businesses.  But nothing really jelled for me until I found a process that made sense to me.

Google Adwords Ninja: How To Make Broad Terms Specific

Is there anything ninjas can't do?

A couple of days ago I talked about applying a great new technique I figured out in Google Adwords.  So I thought I would share with anyone who might be interested.

I dove into Adwords through my entrepreneurial efforts because everything I read was that it was the ideal advertising channel to start a business from.  (I don’t believe I have said it enough, but Glenn Livingston is amazing!)  I wanted as much experience with it as possible, so I implemented it at my day job as well.

You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know

Never stop exploring!

One thing that constantly amazes me about business is how little I really know.  Through my business ventures I have learned so much.  But when I go back to what I did a year ago, a month ago or even just a week ago; I find that I missed so much.

For example, I have been studying Google Adwords for almost 2 years now.  Within the last two months I have began to understand how to really use it.  Don’t get me wrong, I have been using it successfully both at my job and in my business.  Maybe a story will describe it best.

Social Media Shaman – Ashton Kutcher is the New Oprah

Ashton cares about what he shares.

For quite some time now Oprah has been a king-maker.  You go on Oprah’s television show, your (insert product or service here) blows up.  Oprah’s book club selection regularly becomes the number one best seller within a week of being her choice.  Want to be labeled as crazy, just go on Oprah’s show and jump on a couch.  People will be talking about it years later.  It even works the other way.  If Oprah gets mad at you, just watch your life fall apart into a Million Little Pieces.

Restart, Leveled Up

Keep Going! Never Stop!

Yesterday (while gushing) I said that I had decided to start over (AGAIN!!!) on my business search.  What I meant by this is not that I am starting from scratch.  I still have two very good ideas and I am pursuing both of them.  What I did mean was that the path I was following turned out to be a bad one.  I am still following Glenn Livingston’s method, and I still highly recommend him to others.  I just found that I was still too broad in my target.

Frickin Google

So I am working on getting my keyword target for my new business venture and Google’s Keyword Estimator Tool is not working.  Kind of difficult to go through my process if I can’t do the main step.  Oh well, find something I can do and get it done.  Like write on my blog!
