Number one is that houses sell year round. Number two is that a lot of people think that houses only sell in the Spring and Summer, and so a lot of people who are not getting good consultation are going to take their houses off the market. This leads me to a question: If you are selling your house, and your competition starts to self-eliminate itself, is that going to be better or worse for you?
Let me put it another way. If you were to sell your house, which scenario would you prefer: 25 houses just like yours for sale in the same area at the same time? or 10 houses just like yours for sale in the same area at the same time?
Not to mention, interest rates are still below 4% as of yesterday (9/3) and lenders have begun to cut closing costs. Meaning, money is still cheap, and buyer are going to be able to pay even less to get it.
So, to sum up the situation you could be in: You could put your house on the market at a time where you have less competition for buyers, and at a time when those buyers can get historically low rates for historically low cost.
