Amazing But True

So I actually got a job. Even more amazing than that I found the one that was everything that I wanted. As you may know from my last blog I was looking for something new. I wanted to move away from sales, and branch out a little. So I did the What Color is Your Parachute thing and tried to actually think about what it was that I wanted to do.

It’s amazing that I have spouted on and on about thinking about your life, and making yourself happy. And then I go and don’t even do it with the one thing that probably takes up the most of your life: work. So I did some self reflection and talked with people and went searching. I found First National Bank and Marketing Project Manager. Its a smaller company, which I was looking for in the hopes of getting some more responsibility. It is in marketing, which allows me to draw off of my knowledge of sales, and I still get to work with people. It is project management, so I have specific goals and can lead others towards completion of those goals. I get to be creative. I get to do a multitude of different activities, like plan events, create products, write, create new systems for the products, and more. I am really happy that I took the time to make sure I was happy.

And not only that but I learned something else. I learned how wonderful it is to just do whatever you want whenever you want. I spent six months just hanging out with Amber, reading, playing disc, working out, and just in general being as happy as I possibly could be. I have told myself that I want to be wealthy, and be in control of my time. But now I have seen why. How amazing would it be that if the rest of my life I could just do what I want when I want. I can tell you from experience: pretty damn amazing.
